The application of statistical concepts and techniques to the field of education, specifically the study of teaching and learning at the K-12 level. An overview of quantitative educational research methods, describing distributions, measures of central tendency and variation, z-scores, correlation, prediction, regression, t-test, analysis of variance, chi-squared test, reliability and validity. Abuses of statistics. Students are expected to read, review and critique academic research articles about current topics in K-12 education that rely on quantitative methodologies.
