Description
This course is an introduction to both the theory and applied methods of naturallanguage processing. Students will learn some of the basic algorithms of naturallanguage processing and will implement some of these algorithms in a scriptinglanguage. Topics will include: regular expressions, transducers, probabilistic models of pronunciation and spelling, and various methods for predicting the next word. Methods of computer science, mathematics and linguistics will be used.
