Description
This course is an introduction to the field of health informatics. Rapid accessibility to information systems and tools is increasingly essential to the delivery of all aspects of medical care. This course explores the current issues, capabilities and limitations of health information technology. This course prepares students for careers in health care information systems, processing and managing health care data with computer and communication technologies. Emphasis is placed on health care information systems’ architecture, computerized medical data processing and clinical decision support systems. This course may be offered in a face-to-face or hybrid format.
