Description
This course will examine the Divine Comedy as the masterpiece of Dante Alighieri and Italian Literature, as well as one of the most significant works of the World Literature. After a careful introduction to 13th and 14th century European and Italian historical and cultural contexts, we will read key cantos from the Inferno, the Purgatorio, and the Paradiso. Oral presentations may be required.
