Description
Structural and cultural change in community and society; the rate, degree, mechanisms, and planning of change as well as major theories of social change. Social movements, historically, have been a major catalyst for change. Changes caused by global capitalism and the market economy in the late 20th and early 21st centuries will also be examined, as well as reactions to these changes. This course can be offered as a face-to-face course or as a fully online asynchronous course.
