Description
This course provides an introduction to second language acquisition. Issues to be examined include: the role of the first language; psychological aspects; sociolinguistic aspects; and such socio-educational aspects as bilingualism, and immersion of second language acquisition. These issues will be discussed in terms of theoretical models of second language learning. Students will also be introduced to research methodology employed in second language studies.
