Description
This course provides an overview of Assistive Technology (AT) and investigates its practical implementation in inclusive classrooms. Strategies and techniques for designing, developing, and deploying AT are explored to improve the quality of life and independence of learners with disabilities. Students develop and implement plans for assistive technology. They will learn about the traditional and latest AT devices, universal design for learning, curriculum adaptation and integration strategies via AT, and assessment and evaluation protocols. Discussions will include strategies for supporting and sustaining the use and integration of assistive technologies in inclusive classrooms.
