Description

Examination of the reporting, writing, and storytelling techniques that gave rise to a tradition of Journalism literature in America, from the advent of the New Journalism in the 1960s and the 1970s (Capote, Wolfe) to the more recent experimental, rigorously reported, socially focused works that have been dubbed the New Journalism. Students learn to recognize and use in their own writing the research, reporting, organization, and literary devices employed in these long-form journalistic works.
